A little introduction about me :)
I’m Rose, a 20-year old Spanish and English Literature student at the University of Edinburgh. I’m now coming towards the end of my second year of university, and will be going on a year abroad to the BEAUTIFUL city of Barcelona in September. Whilst the past 2 years of university have been quite challenging at times (COVID-19 beginning to uni in student halls, spending 2nd semester of year 1 at home and having to adjust to a semi-normal student life in 2nd year), they have been really rewarding and I have grown so much in my independence!
I had just over half of a gap year from August 2019-March 2020 working in Shakespeare’s Globe theatre as an education assistant, living in London and making the most of the city whilst working full-time. Being able to walk across London Bridge every morning was such a beautiful ritual I was able to undertake, as I saw the city come to life.
I am a keen musician, having sung and played the piano for over 10 years. I perform at student-run open mic nights, but am hoping to start performing at bars and restaurants soon (keep your eyes peeled!). Friends have told me that I become my most authentic self when I sing, and it’s safe to say that music definitely brings me to life!
I am a friend, daughter and sister, and have created this blog to share some insights into my life as a student while I grow and develop.
